i love you, man

i've watched several movies recently, mindless blockbusters like Monsters VS Aliens, A Night at the Museum 2, Terminator...

and I'm glad I caught I Love You, Man.

Despite the weak ring of the title,
it's the human element, intricacy of human relationships of a typical romantic comedy that I missed so much, but smarter, and sweeter.

Peter Klaven has just proposed to the love of his life, but he doesn't rush to tell any friend, any best friend.
The truth is, he's been a girlfriend kinda guy, and never had any best GUYfriend all his life.

So now he needs a Best Man for his wedding, and he goes on a series of man-dates to meet the Man of his Life.

Truth is, it's much easier to go after a romantic interest than make great friends isn't it!
Friends seem to just happen, much harder to meet and keep intentionally.

Sheesh sounds like I should go read the book How To Make Friends.

He finds one, develops a great friendship...

and its a hilarious journey :)

It also made me think about the friends we make and keep,
the friends that remain acquaintances...
who would be at your side when you get married,
when you have your 1st baby...?
