080809 David Tao Concert in Macau

So this super overdue entry marks the unofficial end of DT's 123 We Are All Wooden Men Tour,
and as we speak,
he is already well into this 2nd or 3rd show of his new tour in Taipei!

I wonder if we would reconvene soon...

Photobucket
at the Cotai Arena at Venetian, Macau...

Photobucket

We sang 火鸟功 for the first time here,
and David lugged along his Matchless amp, complete in a DT box.

Mike our sound engineer.. is the best

Photobucket
everyone mimics Jingles' signature ass-shaking grroove!

Photobucket
and for the post-post-party we later head onto the Bellini lounge at Venetian
and David Tan took to the stage...

Photobucket
and we met an amazing guitarist-singer-songwriter Jay Leonard Juatco... yessir!
and had soooo much fun writing songs on the fly...
i thought writing and singing songs on the fly only happened on Whose Line Is It Anyway,
but i was WRONG.

this guy kicks ass.
i'm waiting for him to become famous.

PS. I heard David Tao's new show Rock and Talk comes to Singapore 8 January... AHHH!! I would definitely be there!!!

D6T9

Photobucket
incredible album, i must say.
it felt like an adventure, and i was found myself both amused and humbled, by the creative ideas behind it, and by the amount of effort and sheer work put into the album.

Check out www.youtube.com/D6T9TV for more behind-the-scenes production of this album...
i learnt to appreciate the intricacy of the music more than ever, and looked out especially for the instruments used. :)

Photobucket
strips for mixing...
these masking tape strips are laid down on the mixing board to label the tracks in each song

Photobucket
my name on the track Play *wooot!*

Check out the review written by Ken from 1003FM :)
"... 看到新加坡音乐教父吴庆隆及和音天使郑可为的名字出现专辑中,小小骄傲了一下。"

Thanks Ken!

3 Months

Oh! And of course, I'll finally be seeing him and the DT band in Macau next weekend!
WOoooooooooooooOOOOOoo!!

I MISS TOURING!!!
The last show was 3 months agoooo!

3 MONTHS!!
I've never been in Singapore for a 3-Month stretch since March 2007.

But the beautiful thing about these 3 Months is that
  • I've worked a whole lot harder at my Wala Wala sets, working on many new songs for the repertoire :)
  • And I finally figured out a routine for myself to write songs, and I wrote a few songs too :)
  • And I started yoga! I've happily worked it into my lifestyle, and finally gotten a regular exercise routine in my life.
  • I've been trying to play the guitar, and now my left fingertips are permanently calloused.I say permanently because past experience showed that if you don't keep up with practising, your fingertips un-callous themselves very quickly.

I think I used the word "routine" more than once,
so for these months,
routine has been a good change. :)

lomo blast from the past

sharing photos have never been easier...
we take a photo and send it straight to our blog or Facebook and tag everyone in it.

these photos were taken by Johnny from Beijing EMI in MARCH 2008, during David Tao's tour.
and he just emailed it to me!

The fact that he remembered, and took the effort to, is heartwarming! <3

David Tao's tour is already over, and his album is hitting the shelves very very soon!!!

You can check out www.youtube.com/user/D6T9TV
for many behind the scenes production videos!

And also, my voice is finally featured on DT's album!!!
Just a few lines but still!!! :D :D :D

backlogged

sometimes in spates of travelling
i forget to update about some places.

not like anyone's counting.

.
.
.
.
.
...
but i have great pictures that i want to share!!!

Macau, 1 Feb 2008 - for the opening of Hotel Ponte 16 with David Tao.
a year ago that was!!!

Photobucket
psychedelic 8-ball right outside my gaudy hotel room window

Beijing, 1 Mar 2008, - The Great Wall!!! after DT's concert I stayed on for a coupla days.
too many pictures so I never got down to it

Photobucket

Xi-An, 11 Oct 2008 - terracotta warriors!!!
it is RARE for the band to take a touristy trip,
but this was a lifetime's MUST SEE
so we all trotted along.
of course there were too many pictures to sort out so i never got down to it AGAIN.

Photobucket
said touristy pose - achieved.

Shanghai, 18 Oct 2008 - Leehom Concert in 800000 stadium and SHANGHAI F1!!!
i love the 80000 stadium, and i stayed for F1 in Shanghai (right after F1 in Singapore)
did my touristy bit and ended up with many pictures.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Tianjin, 29 Oct 2008 - Amei Concert
we had a crazy fun post-party which explains MANY PICTURES.
post-parties atmosphere almost always depends on the collective mood of crew, team, artiste,
so it's not always a streaking wild party.

most of the time everyone just wants SUPPER!
of course many times it involves excessive swigging.

Photobucket

Hong Kong, 28 Nov 2008 - Samson and Faith's Wedding!
Yours Truly goes international!
A couple based in Hong Kong flew myself and Ein over for their wedding celebrations
and we became great friends :)
Ein and I also met Diya in HK, had great food, shopped a lot, even had a PHOTOSHOOT.
it was... absolutely perfect.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
thanks to Danny, Pinky, Dale and Gary!

Taipei, 13-17 Dec 2008 - family trip!
this was long overdue, and involved strategic shopping, and much eating.

Photobucket
neon pink Doc Martens i didn't buy in the end.
SORRY PAPA!!!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Bali, 14-16 Jan 2009 - R&R at last!
finally, some sand and sea, i love sea sports!!!
jet ski, diving, white-water rafting, traversing the island on scooter in a bikini... <3

Photobucket

if i publish a travelogue would you buy it?
;)

071008 David Tao Concert in Tianjin

long overdue update.....
(you know i havent blogged about David Tao's concert in Beijing... it was in MARCH!!!!
i extended my trip and took off to the Great Wall and Forbidden Palace...
too many pictures and I procrastinated till erm... NEVER.)

This Tianjin trip was so unexpectedly cold!

We took off to the shopping malls first night we were there to buy huge jackets...

Photobucket
Lucky it was just a 5 minute taxi ride from where we were staying,
chock full with Sephora, Zara, and pretty nice China brands such as Only, Vero Moda etc

Photobucket
chilly temperatures froze the sky over

Photobucket

Photobucket
basking in the sun in my new jacket!

Photobucket
mmmmm.
you think he fell, or just fell asleep?

Photobucket
china demonstrates THEIR way of chair logisitics.

Photobucket
and that you don't need glitzy offices to sell tickets.

Photobucket

Photobucket
happy birthday jingles!

Photobucket
celebration during soundcheck!
the cake was sooooo creamy no one dared to eat much of it due to the milk scare! hah

Photobucket
on show day, i came with my other new eskimo jacket.

Photobucket
no regard for fashion whatsoever-
we made do with shiny stockings that would put any auntie to shame!!!

Photobucket
too cold...
i donned a woolly scarf with my summer frock
and elisa added sleeves to her spacesuit.

Photobucket
the crowd ... crackling the cold air with their fiery passion

on our way home,
flight delay at tianjin... and we were stuck at the beijing airport for hours
Photobucket
testing out my webcam

Photobucket
first time at the new airport :)

Photobucket

Photobucket
ps. this is not our luggage - just another demonstration of china logistics.... :p
