Philharmonic Winds Goes Pop... again!

tis my 2nd collaboration with the Philharmonic Winds! ^_^

this time round, other than singing
Where Do I Begin &
Catch me I Am Falling
from the album,
my own Plastic Mannequin Love was also arranged in full-blown pixie-dust magical philharmonic style!!!

definitely a milestone for me this time round... much thanks to Jiin Joo for his arrangement,
and also to Adrian Cheong for this opportunity! :)

1st time i met Nathan Hartono, super charming with a great voice...

with the conductor Adrian Chiang! :)

not everytime I get to don a long gown for a show... :p

definitely looking forward to more cross-genre collaborations!

Album Preview Concert at Esplanade ... 27 August! ^_^

i was pleasantly surprised to hear from Esplanade that about 50% of the tickets have been sold!!!

and Esplanade hasn't even sent out their flyers yet!

a big THANK YOU to all of you who have already bought your tickets!
i am so excited about this!

we've just sent the tracks for mastering in Tokyo, it's bound for Bernie Grundman's studio!

we are working hard to get the album out in time for this show,
so you would be able to buy it on 27 August itself before it hits the stores!

巫启贤 Eric Moo's Singapore Concert 090710

it was an honour for me to sing with a veteran such as Eric Moo,

and to work with the band leader Jonathan Koh.

and the super awesome band who are mainly Singaporeans!!!

with Seng and Anne, who were dedicated, passionate, hardworking and talented singers!

with Bong on bass and Ruth on keyboards (both I super admire!)

and Jeremy on drums, who popped his concert cherry this time! (who i super admire too!)

here with Jianmin from Taiwan (guitar), Jonathan (guitar/band leader!), Seng and Anne (backing vox), Steven from KL (keyboard), Ruth (keyboard) and Jeremy (drums)

it was a great experience working with band for the first time,
it's been a while since my last concert!

music is really something that grows together with us,
as how eric moo's music has grown together with so many of his audience members！

他说了一句让我好感动的话：

“我在35岁的时候，想，嗯。到了40岁，就不唱了。
然后到了40岁的时候，又想，到了45岁，应该就不唱了。
现在，我已经47岁了，还在为大家唱歌。”

这是一种好真实的告白，与感激。
我常常也在想，唱歌事业，可能到35岁，就没有人要听了吧。

所以我现在，特别觉得sustainability对歌手/艺人是最重要的。
要如何提升自己，idea层出不穷，一直带领着潮流，和生活的脉搏。
要如何持久。

this is by far the clearest and widest LED screen i have seen at a concert!
and so many tv screens by the stage!!

unplugged的部分，
大家排排坐，阵容强大，且温馨。

听着大家齐声高唱 <<太傻>>，歌词是那种从小就烙印在脑海中，忘不掉的。

可以再次唱梁文福老师的歌，又是在他面前演唱solo, 我很荣幸。

想着你的感觉。。。

in the same week, we had intensive rehearsals for JJ Lin's new tour,
and I performed with JJ as well at COMPASS Awards...

080809 David Tao Concert in Macau

So this super overdue entry marks the unofficial end of DT's 123 We Are All Wooden Men Tour,
and as we speak,
he is already well into this 2nd or 3rd show of his new tour in Taipei!

I wonder if we would reconvene soon...

at the Cotai Arena at Venetian, Macau...

We sang 火鸟功 for the first time here,
and David lugged along his Matchless amp, complete in a DT box.

Glad to make new friends with the lovely and pretty Anita!

adorable Nana.. Jamie's daughter...

Mike our sound engineer.. is the best

everyone mimics Jingles' signature ass-shaking grroove!

and for the post-post-party we later head onto the Bellini lounge at Venetian
and David Tan took to the stage...

and we met an amazing guitarist-singer-songwriter Jay Leonard Juatco... yessir!
and had soooo much fun writing songs on the fly...
i thought writing and singing songs on the fly only happened on Whose Line Is It Anyway,
but i was WRONG.

this guy kicks ass.
i'm waiting for him to become famous.

PS. I heard David Tao's new show Rock and Talk comes to Singapore 8 January... AHHH!! I would definitely be there!!!

A crowd this size we usually only see in China!

041008 Amei Encore Concert in Singapore

Amei was back in Singapore for an encore concert,
and it was sold out.. AGAIN!

Check out my blog entry about the show a year ago :)

I was checking out the stage during rehearsal, and turned to Jim,
"Isn't it scary that one year has past, and now we're here,
at the same place, the same stage, the same people,
gonna be singing the same songs and putting up the same show?"

Singing in a world tour is like living in a time capsule -
you do the same thing on the same stage with the same people,
in different places, that's all.

Now I don't even take many pictures when touring in China,
since all shows in China (except Beijing) are at outdoor stadiums,
and they look almost identical.

Nevertheless,
I still took looooaaaadddss of pictures this time because i LOVE the 四面台！！！

(i also finally downloaded NJStar so i can now type freely in Mandarin! Yippee!)
