Justin Timberlake's new collabo with Ciara!
in my opinion the MV is way better than 4 minutes with Madonna.
I heart Ciara's shades.
Also I figure she is going all out for this one springboard of fame that is Justin Timberlake,
with technicolour lights and shadows in the production
killer ass and body
with animal prints
in multiple angular positions
and sleek silhouettes
while Justin kinda just sits there.

the untold story of the world's biggest diamond heist
Headings like that send chills down my spine.
When sheer intelligence tears through social rules of legality,
and appropriates wealth based on their guts,
it is inspiring, and commendable in a very perverse way.
Think Catch Me If You Can,
or even closer to our true story, Ocean's 11, 12, 13....
Or maybe you just need 4.
Behold, our hero Leonardo Notarbartolo.
Sorry folks, you HAVE to be Italian to qualify as a classy, legendary mafia ringleader.
Tan Hock Guan just doesn't cut it.
According to our reporter Joshua Davis, you also have to "radiate sunny Italian charm".
So Notarbartolo's 4 set out to execute the biggest diamond heist in the centre of all diamond transactions, Antwerp.
After prying open 123 vaults, they were so loaded down they gave up on the remaining 37.
Is it just me, or shouldn't highly confidential safe boxes be stored in separate rooms?
Otherwise, if each owner were to have access to his gems this way, shouldn't he be accompanied by security?
The downfall of Notarbartolo is equally dramatic:
his heart overruled his head,
and he involved an accomplice based on friendship, not skill...
proving to be his Achilles heel.
Read this brilliantly written interview on Wired. :)

So Notarbartolo's 4 set out to execute the biggest diamond heist in the centre of all diamond transactions, Antwerp.
In February 2003, Notarbartolo was arrested for heading a ring of Italian thieves. They were accused of breaking into a vault two floors beneath the Antwerp Diamond Center and making off with at least $100 million worth of loose diamonds, gold, jewelry, and other spoils.
The vault was thought to be impenetrable. It was protected by 10 layers of security, including infrared heat detectors, Doppler radar, a magnetic field, a seismic sensor, and a lock with 100 million possible combinations.
The robbery was called the heist of the century, and even now the police can't explain exactly how it was done.
After prying open 123 vaults, they were so loaded down they gave up on the remaining 37.

brian myknight
I just came back from Brian McKnight's concert at the Esplanade Concert Hall.
He was so good, it hurts.
To watch him perform, I was in disbelief/awe
and I constantly questioned myself why the hell i was singing.
Negativity aside,
I always watch live shows with a very intent concentration that seems funny to some of my friends.
Instead of bopping and waving hedonistically,
I find myself analysing his charm: what he said, how he said it, his anecdotes,
how it linked seamlessly with his freestylin music,
how he rearranged his music,
improvised on his classic One Last Cry...
Brilliantly executed.
Before this all sounds too technical,
I should say
I
was
completely
hypnotised,
mesmerised
.
.
.
hold on to your jaws.
you should also check out his series in Brazil,
where it's nothing but acoustic guitar, and vocals.
in case you haven't figured that is soooooooo my kinda thing.
Enjoy :)
while i pack my stuff for Amei's KL concert, leaving in 10 hours...
finally it's tour season again!
but Amei's Star Tour is wrapping up real soon.... T_T

backlogged
sometimes in spates of travelling
i forget to update about some places.
not like anyone's counting.

...
but i have great pictures that i want to share!!!
Macau, 1 Feb 2008 - for the opening of Hotel Ponte 16 with David Tao.
a year ago that was!!!
psychedelic 8-ball right outside my gaudy hotel room window
Beijing, 1 Mar 2008, - The Great Wall!!! after DT's concert I stayed on for a coupla days.
too many pictures so I never got down to it
Xi-An, 11 Oct 2008 - terracotta warriors!!!
it is RARE for the band to take a touristy trip,
but this was a lifetime's MUST SEE
so we all trotted along.
of course there were too many pictures to sort out so i never got down to it AGAIN.
said touristy pose - achieved.
Shanghai, 18 Oct 2008 - Leehom Concert in 800000 stadium and SHANGHAI F1!!!
i love the 80000 stadium, and i stayed for F1 in Shanghai (right after F1 in Singapore)
did my touristy bit and ended up with many pictures.
Tianjin, 29 Oct 2008 - Amei Concert
we had a crazy fun post-party which explains MANY PICTURES.
post-parties atmosphere almost always depends on the collective mood of crew, team, artiste,
so it's not always a streaking wild party.
most of the time everyone just wants SUPPER!
of course many times it involves excessive swigging.
Hong Kong, 28 Nov 2008 - Samson and Faith's Wedding!
Yours Truly goes international!
A couple based in Hong Kong flew myself and Ein over for their wedding celebrations
and we became great friends :)
Ein and I also met Diya in HK, had great food, shopped a lot, even had a PHOTOSHOOT.
it was... absolutely perfect.
thanks to Danny, Pinky, Dale and Gary!
Taipei, 13-17 Dec 2008 - family trip!
this was long overdue, and involved strategic shopping, and much eating.
neon pink Doc Martens i didn't buy in the end.
SORRY PAPA!!!!
Bali, 14-16 Jan 2009 - R&R at last!
finally, some sand and sea, i love sea sports!!!
jet ski, diving, white-water rafting, traversing the island on scooter in a bikini... <3
if i publish a travelogue would you buy it?
;)

Please help to vote! :D
Alfred Sim was one of the winners at the POSB Everyday Champions Award!
This award seeks to recognise individuals, coaches and organisations who have consistently contributed time and effort, beyond their call of duty or responsibilty, so that others can enjoy sport and grow in sport.
The event was held at the St Regis, graced by President S R Nathan and Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister of Community Development, Youth and Sports, organised by Singapore Sports Council and POSB.
More about Alfred -
He's a National Track and Field coach specialising in sprints and hurdles,
and he recently coached Singapore's fastest youth Calvin Kang,
who was the only Singaporean representative at the Beijing Olympics 2008.
Channel NewsAsia interview of Calvin and Alfred
Calvin might be more familiar to you, as seen on your Milo tin.
As you all know, sports and music are all careers driven by passion,
he works very hard in training these young athletes,
and we should support local coaches, born and bred in Singapore!
Please help to spread the word and vote for Alfred!
He is in the Coaches category :)
http://www.singaporesports.sg/Posbchampions/home.aspx
If he is in the Top 3, he wins $2000,
his nominee (ME!) wins $1000,
and the lucky voter wins $1000. :)
much love,
kewei

i miss school productions
I caught the 1st half of Impresario,
and spent the 2nd half backstage hanging out with RazzlePlay and Yet Ye Dunhong :)
they are great fun!
I would next be performing with them at the Singapore Entertainment Awards
this coming Saturday, at the Preshow! :p
We would be singing a medley of old-school stuff everyone is familiar with - that would be interesting :)
NTU Auditorium backstage was exactly the same as it was 5 years ago
when I joined Impresario 2004,
brimming with laughter, excitement, stress, packed food, makeup artists and hairstylists,
dancers, singers, musicians,
taking photos,
warming up,
playing stupid group games.
i miss school productions.
The next day I was the guest performer for NTU Hall 6's Cultural Night at the Esplanade Recital Studio,
together with Ein Ein on keyboard (my music buddy since NTU days!!!)
and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
As with Impresario,
the production committee, the audience, the contestants,
everyone is here for a good time,
everyone puts in their best for the show,
many times the sincerity and effort is even more than a commercial production.
welcome to the real world! ARGH!
Shoutout to Steven, Peiwen, Yuan Rong, Samantha, Yu Ting and many others who have been kind to me at Impresario :)
Also Jingjing and Jimmy for taking care of me at the NTU Hall 6 production! :)
Thank you to Steven Da Dai Lou of Impresario 2009,
and for this gift! :D
I sang a song that meant the world to me at Impresario -
more on that in a bit :)
